Bagel Box & Creamery - Viera - November 2011

Bagel Box and Creamery
5410 Murrell Rd. #111
Viera, Fl 32955 [website includes their full menu, prices and hours]

What I recommend:  bagels and cream cheese, veggie extreme sandwich

Bagelbox is a cute independent little bagel and sandwich shop in the Beef O'Brady's plaza off of Murrell.  They usually have friendly & prompt service.  Some of their items are a little on the pricey side in my opinion, but the delicious bagels are fresh made daily and they do seem to serve and use quality ingredients.  This business is locally owned and I love to support locally owned businesses when I can.

Today we went to the Bagel Box and ordered a toasted Blueberry Bagel with plain cream cheese and also a Reuben Sandwich.

Blueberry Bagel with Plain Cream Cheese [2.49 + tax]

The bagel was fresh. It was toasted correctly and was everything you would want and expect from a bagel shop.  It included a generous amount of delicious cream cheese; yum!

Tip:  It is a cost savings to buy bagels here by the dozen.  I have bought them by the dozen before and froze the leftovers and they froze great!

Reuben [6.99 + tax - comes with a small side or chips]

The Bagel Box Reuben Sandwich comes with toasted rye bread served with Boar's head corned beef, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing.

The Reuben was "toasted", but not enough for my tastes.  I would have preferred more thousand island dressing or more flavorful dressing (I really couldn't taste it).  It did include a generous amount of corned beef.  All and all - it was similar to what you would make at home.  The sandwich comes with a side of potato salad, cole slaw or chips (in this case, Cape Cod Kettle Cooked chips....yum) and a Boar's Head pickle spear which was satisfactory.

The Reuben sandwich was okay.  The last time I ate at Bagel Box I got a veggie extreme and that was FANTASTIC!  The veggie extreme does come with sweet deli peppers (by sweet I mean tasted like they had sugar in them), mayo, cheese and olive oil and vinegar and on gigantic bread.  Usually, when I go with a veggie sub I am trying to be "good," so keep that in mind if you are as well.  The veggies were fresh and delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again, I would probably just ask them to leave off some of the naughty stuff.

Hershey Ice Cream: Bagel Box also serves Hershey Ice Cream which, in my opinion is one of the best tasting scooped ice creams.
